Job Description:

We are looking for a Director of Supply Chain and Procurement to oversee our global supply chain and procurement activities, such as demand planning, purchasing, supplier negotiations, inventory management, and quality control. The Director of Supply Chain and Manufacturing will be managing a global network of suppliers as well as coordinating cross-functionally to develop detailed production and procurement plans. This role will be responsible for building out new processes and infrastructure to ensure that we are optimizing for cost, performance, speed, quality, and growth. You will need to be highly organized, detailed-oriented, self-motivated, and have the ability to juggle many tasks and solve problems creatively and efficiently. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and has a “no task is too small” attitude.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of procurement and production of our finished goods and primary components and track key milestones to ensure due dates are met for production and distribution.
  
  
• Develop detailed production operations plans, processes and schedules that align with demand forecast, lead times and supplier capacity.
  
  
• Negotiate with suppliers and act as primary contact for daily communication with all our suppliers.
  
  
• Define / track KPIs and key metrics for supplier SLAs to monitor and drive performance and keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, lead times, and cost metrics.
  
  
• Work cross-functionally across Operations, Sales, Finance, and Marketing to prepare demand forecasts.
  
  
• Collaborate with Product Development to build a procurement network and set up agreements with key suppliers.
  
  
• Coordinate distribution of product across fulfillment centers with freight forwarders, analyzing data and implementing processes to ensure the most eco-friendly and economical movement of product.
  
  
• Maintain knowledge of and proper use of an ERP system for all inventory-related activities.
  
  
• Perform complex analyses such as cost savings research, sourcing studies, and demand studies.

• Build out a high-performance team for planning, inventory, and procurement operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 8+ years of experience working in demand and supply planning in ecommerce and retail.
  
  
• A thorough understanding of supply chain operational concepts surrounding production planning, contract manufacturing, purchasing, inventory control, freight logistics, and shipping/receiving.
  
  
• Strong communication and negotiation skills for problem solving with external partners on behalf of the company.
  
  
• Demonstrated knowledge of statistical forecast methodologies and best practices.

• Highly organized with an exceptionally high level of attention to detail.

• Data-driven with strong quantitative skills and ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate that data into actionable steps to drive results.
  
  
• Ability to be flexible and agile with changing business needs and time constraints.

• Strong leadership and team-oriented skills, with the ability to develop and manage direct reports and work cross-functionally.
  
  
• Process-oriented and equally comfortable diving into existing processes or creating new ones.
  
  
• Master at strategic prioritization and decision making, and can effectively balance long term business goals with short term needs.
  
  
• Familiarity with retailer routing guides and operations compliance requirements is a plus.
  
  
• Prior experience working with contract manufacturers of beauty, skincare, personal care, or other CPG products is preferred.
  
  
• Experience working in a smaller, high-growth company is a plus.
